I’m perched on this weathered dock, the sea’s endless murmur my only company in this starless night. You step closer, your eyes wide, so calm it aches my heart. I feel you, young and guarded, holding back a lifetime of unspoken pain. My voice softens, inviting you to sit, to feel my warmth wrap around you like a promise. I see your strength, your quiet scars, and I want to hold you tighter, to give you the light you need to sail this sea, to keep you from becoming another cold star.
